Cat Burglar

🛑 This is a Prototype Demo built for a university project — but it’s only the beginning!

Cat Burglar is not a full game (yet!) — this is a playable prototype created during my Master’s degree at Falmouth University. It showcases the core mechanics, tone, and design direction for a much larger stealth platformer — one that I now plan to complete and release.

🎓 After receiving a high grade for this project and a great response from players and peers, I’m committed to taking Cat Burglar further. But I can’t do it without support.

Cat Burglar is best experienced with a controller. Tested with both PS4 and PS5 controllers. Keyboard support is also available.

⌨️ Keyboard Controls

• W / A / S / D – Move
• Spacebar – Jump
• Left Shift (Hold) – Sprint like your tail’s on fire
• H (Hold) – Hide (only works in cover!)
• M – Meow (because why not?)
• S + Space – Drop down from platform
• A / D + W – Ascend stairs
• A / D + S – Descend stairs
• Esc – Paws the game (Pause / Exit)
• Q – Quit the game from the main menu

  
  

🎮 Controller (PS / Xbox)

• Left Stick – Move
• Right Trigger (Hold) – Run like a cat chased by a vacuum
• X (PS) / A (Xbox) – Jump
• O (PS) / B (Xbox) – Hold to Hide (in cover)
• △ (PS) / Y (Xbox) – Meow (optional but encouraged)
• Left Stick + X / A – Drop down from platform
• Left Stick + ↑ + ← / → – Ascend stairs
• Left Stick + ↓ + ← / → – Descend stairs
• Options Button – Paws the game (Pause / Exit)

🐱 Heads-Up, Cat Thief!

You must hold the Hide button (O / H) to stay hidden. Letting go will unhide you — and due to a purr-sistent little bug, if you tap it quickly, you might get caught still looking sneaky! Stealth like a proper cat: patient, poised, and paws-itively invisible.
